Who is WEG?
The Women in Engineering Group was created by a former SFU Engineering Student, Maria Trinh and is now headed by third year undergraduates, Sharika Salim and Camillia Lee. Our organization currently consists of approximately 150 women from all years of Engineering.
We strive to support and encourage the women in Engineering by nurturing strong academic and social bonds. In 2003, as part of WEG's objective to help new students transition from high school, WEG built a mentorship program that matches each new incoming student with an upper-year female student for guidance. Encouraged by the success of the mentorship program, WEG has recently initiated two new and exciting programs, High School Outreach and Corporate Opportunities.
